Stupid of my two not read up on it before my purchase. Really fun to play some party games or emulate Mario Party/Kart, Crash Bash, etc. Bonus is that everyone brings their own favorite controller and they just work. It works great, whether I'm streaming movies and shows on the couch or in bed, or if I'm playing split screen games on the couch with my friends. I personally have two original Steam Link devices, one in the bedroom and one in the living room, both connected by LAN. The aspect ratio of your TV kind of sucks for this, but whatever you use to stream, it will stream the resolution of your desktop monitor so there's not much you can do about that. You just connect, press B/O, minimize Big Picture and you're on your desktop.Īny device will work, so just get whatever you like best/is cheapest.
It works exactly the same on any device that supports Steam Link, whether it's the dedicated hardware, a Raspberry Pi, an Android device, etc. The client device has nothing to do with what you can do with Steam Link. I just wanted to add what u/markhewitt1978 said is wrong.
